# Sol.site

## Overview

**Sol.site** is a dedicated gateway that connects your Web3 domain to the traditional Web2 internet. While your `.sol` domain operates seamlessly within the Solana ecosystem, the traditional internet (DNS) does not natively recognize blockchain domains.

Sol.site bridges this gap by provisioning a standard Web2 subdomain (**`.sol.site`**) for eligible `.sol` domains. This architecture empowers users to **host web content** and **configure email servers** directly under their domain name. By mapping on-chain records to standard DNS infrastructure, users can establish a functional web presence and communication channels without relying on specialized browser extensions or resolution tools.

**Eligibility Requirements** While activation is automatic for eligible domains, the `.sol.site` subdomain is subject to standard web naming conventions. To qualify, your domain must:

1. **Be ICANN Compliant:** The domain string must adhere to standard internet naming rules.
2. **Adhere to Safety Standards:** Domains containing offensive language, potential scam indicators, or prohibited strings are ineligible for this feature.
